If you are here it is because your employer has elected to offer an Individual Coverage Health Reimbusrement Account (ICHRA) or directed you to shop for health plan "on the exchange" as a method of providing health insurance what you need to know is (in the simplest terms) your employer is providing funds to help with the purchase of your own health insurance. If you choose a plan that costs more than your employer is providing in funds, the additional amounts can be paid for through payroll deduction with pre-tax dollars. If you choose a plan that costs less than your employer contributed funds, that money will be stored in your Life Events Spending Account unless you have an HSA eligible plan and choose to contribute those funds to your HSA account, in such case you will need to set this up with your employer directly.
